Ambassadors Reinforce African Unity During Diplomatic Meeting in Moscow

On a significant diplomatic occasion, His Excellency Ambassador Mahamat Paba Salé, the Dean of African Ambassadors and Ambassador of Cameroon, visited the Sierra Leone Embassy in Moscow. He was warmly received by His Excellency Mohamed Yongawo, Sierra Leone's Ambassador to Russia.


During the visit, Ambassador Yongawo expressed his deep appreciation for Ambassador Salé’s leadership and the continued efforts to promote cooperation among African nations in Russia. He further elaborated on Sierra Leone’s national priorities, emphasizing President Julius Maada Bio's Five Big Game Changers. These include a strong focus on Food Security, Information Technology, Civil Service Reform, and Human Capital Development, particularly through Education.

The conversation also touched on the **Common African Agenda**, with both ambassadors reaffirming their commitment to advocating for reforms at the United Nations Security Council and promoting global peace, a key focus for Sierra Leone during the recent UN General Assembly.


The meeting reflected on the robust ties between Sierra Leone and Cameroon, acknowledging their shared efforts within the **African Union** and the United Nations, especially in advancing the rights of women and youth.

Ambassador Salé, known for fostering a collaborative environment among African diplomats in Russia, was commended for his leadership. Both leaders discussed further improving the welfare of ambassadors and diplomats, reinforcing their collective efforts to strengthen African unity and address key challenges facing the continent.

This interaction showcased the enduring diplomatic relationships between the two nations and reiterated their shared vision for a prosperous Africa through strategic cooperation.
