President Julius Maada Bio has issued a powerful call for urgent reforms to the United Nations Security Council, championing Africa’s rightful place in global peace and security governance. As the Coordinator of the African Union’s Committee of Ten (C-10) on Security Council Reform, President Bio emphasized the need for Africa to be granted two permanent seats with veto power, alongside two additional non-permanent seats. In his passionate plea, President Bio highlighted the current structure of the Security Council as outdated and unjust, particularly regarding Africa's representation. “The Security Council has been stuck in time.
