A Boy Brutally Murders His Uncle Over NLe 100 in Moyamba District

The community of Kobanka village in Ribbi Chiefdom, Moyamba District, is in a state of panic and disbelief after the alleged murder of Alie Kamara, a 37-year-old blacksmith and farmer.

The tragic event is said to have taken place around midnight, while Kamara was spending the night with one of his wives in the Lilihammer section of Kobanka village.

The prime suspect, 23-year-old Sullay Kabia, who is the nephew of the deceased, allegedly followed his uncle before the attack. According to reports, Kamara’s wife remembered hearing her husband's voice when he stepped out of their home to use the restroom during the night. The horror unfolded early the next morning, at approximately 6:21 a.m., when Kamara's lifeless body was discovered. He had sustained serious injuries, including stab wounds and a deeply slashed neck.

The shocking murder has left the close-knit farming community in turmoil. Reports suggest that the uncle and nephew had been engaged in intense disputes in the days leading up to the incident.

Their conflict reportedly centered around accusations of theft, with Kamara accusing Kabia of frequently stealing produce from his farm, specifically cucumbers and groundnuts. Kabia, however, denied these claims, and the tension between them escalated further when he accused Kamara of withholding part of a NLe200 remittance, claiming he only received NLe100.

Despite initially fleeing the scene after the crime, Kabia was eventually caught by local authorities and is currently detained at Bradford Police Station as investigations continue.

As of now, no postmortem has been performed, and Alie Kamara's body remains in custody, not yet released to his family for burial. The community remains on edge as they await further developments in this tragic case.
